Flash flood has affected huge numbers people and crop area in 40 villages of Tapattary and Srijangram development block under North Salmara Sub-Division in Bongaigaon district. Erosion also hit by the river is on with falling water levels in the area . Thousands of families had to take shelter on the roads side and school etc. Crops like paddy, jute, sugarcane and vegetables have been damaged by flood in North Salmara sub-division, which is considered as a hub of agri-produce and milk. Hence the crisis of vegetables and cow milk has been noticed in the markets.
Our project schools all got badly affected for the heavy rainfall But due to the calamity, it become very hard for us to continue the program in those areas. The local people are struggling for their lives, to save their cattle. Normal life has come to a stands till. It will take some time to bring life. Now It is urgent to provide food item and also need for livelihood support for future.
