About Us
The Jubayer Masud Educational & Charitable Trust (JMECT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering rural communities in Bongaigaon district, Assam, through education, livelihood support, and community health initiatives. Established in 2008 in memory of Jubayer Masud, a young student whose tragic kidnapping and murder shook the region, JMECT was founded with the vision of transforming lives through education and sustainable development.
Our Work
Operating in some of the most socio-economically challenged areas of Assam, JMECT designs its programs to address both immediate and long-term community needs. Our key initiatives include:
- Early Childhood and Remedial Education: Establishing learning centers to support children’s education.
- Livelihood Support: Assisting parents of school-going children with skill development and income-generating opportunities.
- Disaster Resilience & Relief: Helping vulnerable communities prepare for and recover from frequent floods and natural disasters.
- Community Health & Awareness: Promoting hygiene, sanitation, and healthcare access in underserved villages.
